Not sure why, but guess he would be better than Dekker. If at the right price.

What in the world for??? I don't think Dekker is all that bad but I guess if Brady came at the right price it wouldn't hurt. He does have experience though which would help if someone gets injured but I can't image he'd see the field all THAT much if we signed him.

that man is a blocker, he blocks like a ****ing tackle

Brady is getting long in the tooth.....and he has hands of stone regardless if he can still block.
The Steelers have rocks in their collective heads if they waste a roster spot on a semi-washed up TE.

Geat News! Just the cocktail for success!!! Everyone needs a 47 year old TE with 2 bad knees!

I wouldn't mind him to block. Keep im in to help out a crappy tackle (pick one. Especially if they draft Cherilus)

I think that's what they are looking for in him, not someone who's going to catch passes but more so someone to be an extra blocker in short yardage and goal line situations. I wouldn't waste any more than the league minimum on him if they do pursue him.

After spending the last couple of weeks meeting with NFL Draft prospects, the Steelers visited with a player that is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Free-agent tight end Kyle Brady, who has played 13 NFL seasons, met with Steelers coaches Tuesday at the team's South Side facility.

Brady, a former Penn State All-American, spent last season with the Patriots and was released by New England at the end of February.

A first-round pick by the New York Jets in 1995, Brady started nine games for the Patriots last season and caught nine passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Brady has 343 catches for 3,519 yards and 25 touchdowns with the Jets, Jaguars and Patriots.

Despite being 36 and not much of a downfield receiving threat, the 6-foot-6, 280-pound Brady is still considered a premier blocker.
The Steelers released veteran Jerame Tuman in February, leaving Heath Miller as the only tight end on the roster who has played more than one season in the NFL.

Interesting that are looking at an old veteran like Brady instead of a young guy to bring along. Spaeth is the real deal and hopefully he can stay healthy and really make an impact. I never really though Dekker was that bad but I guess they are alittle scared incase we get an injury at that position ...

I don't really see a need for him on the team. I think we're pretty set at TE.

Maybe bring him in to school the younger guys we have there now and fill in a little at tackle...:2cents:
