View Full Version : Something else that ticks me off

While I think Reed will be fine kicing FG's his kickoffs still suck! Anyone else notice the Bengals kicker kicking them threw the endzone (with the wind) while Reed could still barely hit the 10yd line?

He's been doing that all year so far, and he was doing it in preseason too. Last year his kickoffs started out nice and deep in the beginning of the season but as it went along they get shorter and shorter. I don't know what his deal is lately but his slump has cost us already this year by leaving points on the field and giving the other team good starting field position.
He's got a big strong leg, there's no reason he should be kicking off that short.

Reed is going in the wrong direction as a kicker! He is averaging a dismal 63.7 yards per kickoff which puts him next to last and he has only 1 touchback! He's missed a couple FG's but one of them I'm sure he didn't even think he was going to make (48 yarder against Cinci). Reed hasn't been impressive at all... he must be out partying with Ben ;)

reed has never been all that great doing kickoffs. the problem we have is not enough roster spots to have a specialist handle kick offs.

We're gonna have to give him the benefit of the doubt and let him work through this slump he's in right now because he's all we have. He needs to get back to that mindset that got him this job, he can do it you don't just forget how to kick, but I can't figure out how he got into this slump in the first place.

I was pretty surprised to see Reed miss field goals the past few games. Hopefully the bye week will do him some good as well.

wasn't the only one he missed that attempt in the dolphins game? last week against the bengals that was blocked, i can't really fault him there.

This actually goes back to preseason, he missed quite a few!

I think he missed most every kick in preseason that he attempted but I'd have to go back and check to verify. Partially blocked kicks can be the fault of the line as much as the kicker depending on the situation.

reed is a mothersuckin bum when it comes to kick offs...i complained about that all year last year too.....we need to get a kicker with a boot....jose cortez.....well do they allow messicans in PA?? lol.....he can kick far and then we just leave the field goals to reed

Mark Brubaker has a big leg, he went to east stroudsburg univerisity which is literally 3 miles away from my house, we got him as an undrafted free agent and he did good in preseason.:dunno:

Go look at his stats, inside 40yds the guy is $$. Kickoffs are another story though. I've seen to many fgs missed in heinz to really get on the guy, our field is one hell of a field to kick fgs.

I don't worry too much about him kicking FG's. The kickoffs are what really bother me.
