LaMarr Woodley: Steely gaze
James Harrison, Joey Porter and others have come before him. Now Woodley is the breakout rush linebacker in the Steelers' 3-4 defense.
The rookie second-rounder has only three sacks this season, but with veteran starter Clark Haggans expected to leave in free agency, Woodley is a starter -- and a star--in the making. Woodley won the Lombardi Award as the nation's best lineman his senior year at Michigan. He was an intimidator then -- just look at those eyes -- and is a menacing sight to behold now. At 6-2 and 265 pounds, Woodley will be one of the biggest rush linebackers in the NFL. Will he be one of the best? We're banking on it.

I look forward to seeing what he can do as a starter over 16 games.

I hope Haggans is gone...

I can't wait to see this kid in action too, I think he's going to be something special for us. I'd really like to see Timmons step up to the plate and get more reps too, a 1st round draft pick ought to be ready for some more field time asap.

Who cares? Haggans is a $4 million dollar cap hit and is not that great of a player. Woodley is only a 750K hit. You don't pay back-ups $4 mil +. Remember that Woodley won the Ted Hendricks award his last year in college which goes to the best college Div 1A defensive end. This guy has tons of upside. I believe he is already a better play than Haggans. If he hadn't struggled with a groin injury this year he may have already suplanted Haggans at that position.

I tried to convince my wife to name our son "Lloyd" but she wasn't having it :dunno: I even compromised and said ok, how about "bus" or "Lambert" but she just looked at me like I had 3 heads or something.. :reddevil:
