Steelers release cornerback Colclough
Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

The Steelers today released fourth-year cornerback Ricardo Colclough, the team's second-round draft pick in 2004.

The roster move made room for the team to resign second-year cornerback Anthony Madison to their active roster.

Madison (5-9, 180) was signed as a rookie free agent out of Alabama and played in 12 games for the Steelers in 2006, recording three defensive tackles and 10 special teams tackles. He was released after training camp this year and spent a week with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being waived Sept. 12.

Colclough (5-11, 195) played in three games this year and had one special teams tackle. For his career, he had one interception and 33 defensive tackles.

Based on stats alone it seems like the right move to be making!

Plus with Ryan Clarke being hurt and Smith as the main backup now turned starter it makes sense for Madison to be brought back and Coc to hit the road because of how he played last year vs how Madison has played for us.

yeah boy, I was waiting for this !! :woot: Coc wasn't going to see the field this year except on ST and only on defense if an injury happened and as bad as he was last year and players like Gay stepping up it made him expendable.

seemed like it happened weeks ago. or is it me? I've seen more recent shots of St. Pierre in uniform than Choklough. Good riddens. he can bud up with Potheat, 'nother under-achiever.

I thought that Madison should have made the team in the first place. He can hit and cover well, didn't he get a pick in the preseason for a touchdown?

The Browns got him via waivers:

That article also stated that big Ted Washington was also placed on injured reserve.
