Dont know if Joey Porter should really be on there but I guess it is what it is. I would have taken Kevin Greene over Porter but I guess since Joey won a Super Bowl here and Greene didnt thats part of the reason. I also think Yancey Thigpen should have also been considered when it came to receivers. He had 3 or 4 great years and broke a lot of records until Ward came along and broke his records.

I was going to say the same thing... Joey Porter????

Thigpin might be 5th on the list of WR's becasue there was a another great receiver in the 80's by the name of Louis Lipps!

That's a pretty solid list overall. I would have definitely put Louis Lipps in there as the 4th WR but other than it's hard to argue with those choices at all. Just imagine if that team could take the field today ! :towelwave:

As far as Porter goes I think he deserves to be on there but I'd also make a case for Jason Gildon considering he's the sack leader for the Steelers.

Definately agree with you on both points here. Loved Louis and Joey was our leader on D.:cope::tt02::cope::tt02:

I agree with Lipps as #4 reciever and Porter on as well. Gildon should be on as well. I just have 1 question and 1 statement to make for my dear departed dad.
First the question in the Steelers entire 75 year history did they not have a decent guard till Faneca in '98 some 66 years into the teams history?

Now my comment.... Ever since I can remember watching Steeler football my dad always made comments how Matt Bahr made kicks for other teams that he missed as a Steeler. The thing is Matt Bahr won the Super Bowl as a rookie on the '79 team. Consideration for all time kicker? He has a Steelers Super Bowl ring Gary doesn't.

I agree with the list. As far as Joey Porter goes, no doubt he was good for us, but IMHO every LBer on that list was better than Joey. And remember this was all voted for by the fans.

Joey was a fan favorite so that was a big reason he's on the list as Dom mentioned. You could choose almost any of the starting LB's in Steelers history since the 70's and make a case for them.

I forgot to say Jerome should thank injuries to Barry Foster that he's even on here. Barry's shortened stint with us really sucks! He was my pick on over Bus just for his unrealized potential for greatness.

Blitzburghpete

we've had a load of Lb's that could have made this team.

OLB Mike Merriweather
ILB Robin Cole
ILB L Kirkland
OLB J Gildon

Chad Brown was a pro bowler
Bryan Hinkle
Kevin Greene sack master pro bowler

James Farrior should have / could have made this list too IMO.
