With three wins in a row under their belt, including a hard fought victory against the New York Giants this past Sunday, the Steelers are looking like the team of old. They have a relatively easy match up this week against the Kansas City Chiefs, but with the point spread at -12.5, the Steelers NFL odds for the week are a little risky.
One of the reasons the team has been doing so great as of late is the fact that their defense has finally gotten back into sync. After two games with over 30 points allowed to the other team at the beginning of the season, the team has gotten back into gear and kept three of their last five opponents under 20 points. They haven’t been able to get as many turnovers as in previous years, but when injured players like Troy Polomalu come back that should change very quickly.
Another thing the team has been doing really well as of late is their offense. With players like Rashard Mendenhall injured, they have found ways to get the ball to back up running back Isaac Redman consistently. When they are not going to him, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has consistently spread the ball out to his two star receivers Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace. Them continuing to use their offense at its highest potential is the key to them maintaining their win record throughout the rest of the year. If they start to falter, they will surely start to lose games again, which they obviously do not want to happen.
The Steelers’ game against the Chiefs this week will take place on Monday Night Football, so the whole world will be watching the match up go down. The point spread is against the Steelers in terms of betting, but the game looks to be theirs for the taking.
