Steelers vs Bills preview

Affiliate: The Steelers have been involved in two incredibly close preseason games so far, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles by one point in the opener and then overcoming the Indianapolis Colts 26-24 last weekend.

The win over the Colts was highlighted by a long touchdown grab by Antonio Brown from starting QB Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger finished 5-of-9 for 81 yards and a touchdown and interception.

Brown didn’t need too many touches to make a difference. Along with the 57-yard touchdown catch, that featured numerous moves and twists and turns, he finished with two receptions and 75 yards. He was targeted six times.

Perennial backup Charlie Batch came in and completed 7-of-10 passes for 84 yards, though he was sacked twice. Then, Jerrod Johnson came in and was 4-of-5 for 65 yards.

Pittsburgh’s running backs totaled 36 carries for 146 yards, led by Jonathan Dwyer and Jason Ford.

As for the right NFL picks this weekend against Buffalo, it’s all about a matter of who you think will win straight up. The line is at a pick’em for the matchup.

That may present good value on the Steelers considering the Bills are coming off a 36-14 defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings and have yet to win a game in exhibition play.

Pittsburgh will host the Carolina Panthers after this weekend’s game in the Buffalo and then it’s on to the regular season, where the Steelers will open play against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

We can expect to see Roethlisberger and other starters like Brown and Emmanuel Sanders get more playing time. Moreover, starting running back Isaac Redman, who’s been out injured, might be able to return this weekend.

The Steelers face a stern test against Buffalo, but in the end they have plenty of experienced players and they are worth a hard look with your sports picks.
