Steelers Tight End Weslye Saunders to be suspended for 4 games

The news broke this morning that Steelers rookie Tight End Weslye Saunders will be suspended for 4 games in the 2012 season. It’s not yet known the full reasoning behind the suspension but it could be related to the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

Saunders was an undrafted free agent picked up by the Steelers before the start of the 2011 season.

Nobody knows yet for sure where this will lead or if we’ll hear anything concrete on the team about how things went down but hopefully Wes can put this behind him and learn from it. Saunders showed flashes what he can become this season and many feel he may take over the primary backup spot behind starter Heath Miller. He’ll have his chances to make amends and move on but you only get so many chances in Pittsburgh before it’s too late.
