Thanks to the Houston Texans beating the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers will travel to New England to face Tom Brady if they win on Sunday night in Denver. The Steelers beat the Patriots at Heinz Field 25-17 back in week 8. That was the game where Lamarr Woodley injured his hamstring and has yet to play a full game since.
The Steelers defense registered 3 sacks and 1 FF in that game, as you remember the latter was caused by Brett Keisel’s rush and Troy Polamalu’s veteran savvy to punch the fumble out from the crowd of bodies deep in Steelers territory late in the game. The Steelers played solid defense against Tom Brady, effectively taking out Rob Gronkowski, the Patriot QB’s favorite target. It will take a similar if not better effort should the Steelers advance.
Roethlisberger was 36-50 for 365 yds. 2 TD’s and 1 Int. Rashard Mendenhall had 13 carries for 75 yds in the contest as well.
First things first though, the Steelers have to take care of business and oust Tim Tebow and his teammates from the post season.
