The late, great, legendary voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Myron Cope’s birthday is celebrated today by all of the Steeler Nation. Were it not for Myron, we’d never have the Terrible Towel. Any Steeler fan who’s ever had the pleasure of listening to Cope call a Steeler game remembers fondly his passion for the game and own unique style with which he delivered his message to the fans.
His patented “Yoi” and “Double Yoi” can still be heard in our hearts and will live on forever. The game tonight could not have worked out any better for the Steelers if they had actually planned it themselves. The AFC Championship Game, being played in Pittsburgh on Myron Cope’s birthday.
