So as the Jets go this week, it’s been relatively quiet on the talking about this weekends game. Normally you expect to hear Scott, Cromartie, or any other of a host of Jets players trying to fuel the fire. Save for a few subtle jabs, and despite the New York media’s efforts to stir the pot, it’s been quiet.
Enter one Antonio Cromartie with this comment to reporters: “I know for a fact that he will hit you while you’re not looking,” Cromartie said. “I don’t think he’s man enough to hit you while you’re looking at him.” Furthermore from the illustrious mouths of those who haven’t won anything in the modern era,
Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine regarding Ward.
“Our guys I think called him the toughest guy in the league when nobody’s looking,” Pettine said, per Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com.
Quite Honestly, for anyone in the league to actually have the jewels to say that Hines Ward isn’t man enough to do something, well lets just say they must have left their brains in their collective rear ends. Hines Ward has never and will never shy away from making a block when he needs to. Looks like Hines is in the Jets heads right now, let them talk, it will be a pleasant sight when Mr. Ward introduces Mr. Cromartie to the turf at Heinz Field.
Let’s face it, if you aren’t looking where you are supposed to be then you deserve what’s coming too, ask Keith Rivers.
The fans in the forums have quite a lot to say on this topic too…see for yourself.
